Journey to Wellness: How Armour Medication and Collagen Transformed My Hypothyroidism Experience

Living with hypothyroidism can feel like an uphill battle against constant exhaustion and discomfort. I know this because I've lived it. My story is one of struggle, discovery, and eventual relief with the help of Armour medication, stress reduction, gut health improvement and collagen supplementation. In this blog post, I'll take you through my personal experience with hypothyroidism, the steps I've taken to improve my health, and how these changes have made a significant difference in my life.

For me, hypothyroidism meant feeling perpetually drained, no matter how much rest I got. My days were a blur of lethargy and brain fog, making even the simplest tasks feel insurmountable.

Discovering Armour Medication

My turning point came when I decided to try Armour medication, this was after seeing an endocrinologist due to lack of energy and hair falling out, and at that time I had numerous testing done, which all looked normal, only to find after my SIBO diagnosis, my thyroid really tanked and my T3 was not converting properly, and my TSH was just slightly low but still within “normal” range. Traditional synthetic thyroid hormones like levothyroxine didn't seem to work for me. I felt frustrated and helpless until I stumbled upon information about Armour, a natural desiccated thyroid hormone. Intrigued by its potential, I consulted my functional medicine doctor and made the switch.

The initial effects of Armour were nothing short of miraculous. Within weeks, I noticed a significant improvement in my energy levels and overall mood. The brain fog began to lift, and I felt more like myself again. It was as if a heavy blanket had been removed from my life, allowing me to breathe freely.   • Improved Mood: The depressive symptoms that once clouded my mind began to dissipate. I felt happier and more optimistic about life.

  • Better Metabolism: I noticed a positive change in my metabolism. Weight management became easier, and I felt more in control of my body.

Comparing Armour to other thyroid medications, I found that it provided a more holistic approach to treating hypothyroidism. The inclusion of T3 in Armour seemed to make a significant difference, as T3 is the more active thyroid hormone in the body. While Armour medication addressed my thyroid hormone deficiency, I also looked into additional supplements to support my overall health. Collagen supplementation caught my attention. I incorporated stress-relief techniques such as mindfulness meditation, yoga, and deep breathing exercises into my daily routine.   • Balanced Diet: Eating a nutrient-rich diet is essential for thyroid health. I focused on consuming foods high in vitamins and minerals, such as selenium, zinc, and iodine, which support thyroid function. Leafy greens, nuts, and seafood became staples in my meals.

  • Regular Exercise: Physical activity is beneficial for overall health and can improve thyroid function. I made it a point to engage in moderate exercise, such as walking, swimming, and light weightlifting. My journey with hypothyroidism has been challenging, but finding the right treatment has been life-changing. Armour medication and collagen supplementation have played pivotal roles in restoring my health and vitality. By addressing both the hormonal and systemic aspects of hypothyroidism, I've been able to reclaim my life and feel better than I have in years.
