I've made my other favorite Hormone Balancing Smoothie for years and love it to this day, … but today I thought I'd add another basic smoothie to our arsenal.... a yummy protein packed treat in my opinion Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie! It reminds me of strawberry shortcake, no joke!

I truly love starting my day with a nutrient packed smoothie for breakfast or a snack, any day of the week of that matter! This Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie is packed with protein, fiber, vitamins and plenty of nutrients, to keep you energized all day. It is naturally sweetened, by the delicious strawberries and if you are in a rush, you can always take it on the go with you and drink in the car if needed. When we add protein to smoothies, it helps sustain energy and really keeps you feeling satiated and satisfied for longer periods of time.

I love adding oatmeal to my smoothies! When you add oatmeal to your smoothie by finely grinding some uncooked oats in the blender before adding the rest of the ingredients, it thickens the texture of the smoothie while simultaneously boosting its fiber, protein, and vitamins. That’s a win in my book of smoothies!

Best Protein Powder for Smoothie

I get asked all the time how to fit in enough protein into our diet, and protein powder is such a great way to sneak it in without even trying. The great thing about this healthy protein packed strawberry oatmeal shake recipe is that you can use any kind of protein powder you like. I do like this one here, which blends really well and has great flavor.

Strawberries help protect your heart, increase HDL (good) cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, and guard against cancer. They are packed with vitamins, fiber, and particularly high levels of antioxidants known as polyphenols, strawberries are also a sodium-free, fat-free, cholesterol-free, low-calorie food.

  • It only uses 7-8 ingredients.

  • Any milk will work for this smoothie, I like almond milk or oat milk.

  • The oats make this smoothie rich in fiber and gives the smoothie a rich taste, and a little thicker of a texture

  • This smoothie can be made with fresh strawberries or frozen. If you use frozen, this will help make the smoothie thicker.

  • If you want to make a gluten-free version of this smoothie, use gluten-free oats instead or omit them from the recipe, but I like the extra energy I get from some carbs added in!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/2 frozen (ripe) banana

  • 1 cup frozen or fresh strawberries

  • 1 T Organic Flaxseed Meal

  • 1 1/2 scoops vanilla protein powder

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk

  • 1 cup ice cubes

  • 1/4 tsp. Vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup oatmeal

Directions:

  1. Place the oatmeal into the blender and blend the oats until they are a fine powder.

  2. Add all remaining ingredients to the ground oatmeal and blend until completely smooth. Top with additional strawberries as garnish. Enjoy straight away.
