Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Peanut Butter Cups
Peanut Butter Cups are one of my favorite sweet treat snacks! When I make these for my friends, kids or husband, they go crazy for them! I really love the peanut butter chocolate combo. The taste is superb, and you can eat this snack without feeling guilty because the ingredients are clean and healthy!
I wanted something a little more healthy and while my mom was here visiting from North Dakota, I decided to give these a try. I thought to myself, how hard can this be? Chocolate and peanut butter? Easy-peasy - right? Yup pretty much! This is the best sweet treat for the holidays and gifting to friends and family too!
Healthy Ingredients
If you're looking for a sweet tooth satisfying snack, you can't go wrong with peanut butter oatmeal cups! These easy-to-make treats are packed full of flavor and the best combo in my opinion! Here are the simple 5 ingredients in this peanut buttercup recipe:
Peanut Butter
Peanut butter is a good source of healthy fats and protein. It also contains fiber, vitamin E, and magnesium. Make sure to use natural peanut butter without added sugar or hydrogenated oils to keep your peanut butter oatmeal cups as healthy as possible.
Dark Chocolate
Powerful source of antioxidants, may help improve blood flow and lower blood pressure, raises HDL and protects LDL from oxidation, may help reduce heart disease risk, may protect your skin from the sun, can help to improve brain function.
Unrefined Coconut Oil
It helps reduce triglycerides, that helps to protect the liver from damage. It has anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce the symptoms of arthritis and the risk for developing chronic diseases. Increases bone volume, which could fight against developing osteoporosis.
Sea Salt
Sea salt contains small amounts of potassium and enables proper absorption of potassium by the body from other foods as well. In turn, it helps in preventing muscle pains, spasms, and cramps, which is always a plus.
By incorporating these ingredients into your peanut butter cups recipe, you can create a delicious and satisfying sweet tooth snack that will help you power through your day!

How To Make Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
If you're looking for a fun and sweet tooth satisfying snack, peanut butter cups are a great option. These cups are easy to make and customizable to your preferences. Here's how you can make them:
Ingredients used are:
dark chocolate chips (you could also use semi sweet)
unrefined coconut oil
peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
sea salt
Step One:
In a small saucepan, over low heat, melt a 10 ounce bag of chocolate chips with 1/2 tsp of vanilla and 2T unrefined coconut oil. Stirring occasionally until the chocolate chips are melted.
Step Two:
Transfer melted chocolate to muffin tin with liners evenly amongst all 12 cups.
Step Three: Place 1-2 tsp or a little more of peanut butter to each muffin tin on top of the melted chocolate.
Step Four: Add another layer of chocolate once you’ve finished with the peanut butter layer.
Step Five: Add Sea Salt (I like this one) and then place the muffin baking sheet in the fridge or freezer to chill for about one hour.
Additional Notes:
Swap the peanut butter for almond butter or another nut butter of your choice
Top the peanut butter cups with chopped nuts or shredded coconut for added texture
Use maple syrup to give the chocolate a twist
These peanut butter cups can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or in the freezer for a few months.
