Spring Cleaning Made Easy: How to Get Your House Fresh and Clean in Just One Day

Health + Wellness

Spring is finally here, and it’s time to open up the windows, let in the fresh air, and give your home a good deep clean. While cleaning an entire house may seem overwhelming, there are plenty of ways to make it easier. In fact, with a little planning and organization, you can get your whole house done in just one day. As a holistic health coach, I know the importance of a clean and healthy environment, which is why I’ve put together these tips to help make your spring cleaning a breeze.

Make a Plan:

Before diving into cleaning, take a few minutes to create a plan of attack. Decide which rooms need the most attention and prioritize your list. You may want to start with the bathrooms and kitchen since these rooms tend to collect the most dirt and grime. Make a list of cleaning supplies you’ll need for each room, including cleaning solutions, rags, sponges, and any other equipment needed to complete the job.

I created this brand to bring you the best in wellness, nutrition, fitness and clean beauty!

Gather Your Supplies:

The last thing you want to do is run out of supplies mid-cleaning. Make sure you have everything on hand before starting. It’s also helpful to have a caddy or bucket with all your supplies together, so you can easily move from room to room. If you’re short on cleaning products, try using natural alternatives like vinegar and baking soda, which are safe, effective, and affordable.

Declutter First:

Before starting the deep cleaning, declutter each room to get rid of any unnecessary items. A clutter-free home not only looks cleaner, but it also helps reduce stress and anxiety. Sort items into piles of things to keep, donate, or throw away. If you’re not sure where to start, try the KonMari method, which suggests only keeping items that spark joy.

Clean From Top to Bottom:

When it’s time to start cleaning, always work from top to bottom. This means starting with dusting high up surfaces like ceilings, fans, and light fixtures, and then working your way down to counters, floors, and baseboards. By working from top to bottom, you’ll avoid dust and dirt falling onto surfaces you’ve already cleaned.

Take Breaks:

While the goal is to finish spring cleaning in one day, it’s important to take breaks to avoid burnout. Take a break every hour or so to recharge, stretch, and stay hydrated. Cleaning can be physically demanding, so it’s important to listen to your body and not push yourself too hard.

Spring cleaning doesn’t have to be a daunting task. With a little planning, organization, and hard work, you can get your whole house clean and ready for the warmer months in just one day. Remember to make a plan, gather your supplies, declutter first, clean from top to bottom, and take breaks. By following these tips, you’ll be on your way to a cleaner, healthier, and more organized home. Happy Spring Cleaning!
