Do's and Don'ts of Visiting Nashville
Do Explore Broadway
Broadway is the beating heart of Nashville's music scene. At night, the street comes alive with neon lights and the sounds of live music pouring out of every bar. Make sure to stroll down Broadway and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. It's a must-do for any visitor.
Don't Forget Comfortable Shoes
Nashville is a city best explored on foot, so pack comfortable shoes. Whether you're wandering through downtown or exploring local neighborhoods, you'll be doing a lot of walking. Trust me, your feet will thank you, I wore these here and here which both pairs were so comfortable and went with all my dresses and short combos. Plus, don’t forget to bring your cowboy boots! My favorite and most comfortable pair I wear are linked, here.
Do Try the Local Cuisine
Nashville's food scene is diverse and delicious. While hot chicken is a must-try, don't miss out on other local specialties. We'll share some specific recommendations later in the post, but be sure to indulge in the city's culinary delights.
Don't Ignore the Lesser-Known Neighborhoods
While the main tourist areas are fantastic, take the time to explore lesser-known neighborhoods. Places like East Nashville offer unique experiences, local music, art, and community events that give you a deeper understanding of the city's culture.
Do Consider Rideshare Services
Parking can be a challenge in downtown Nashville, especially during peak hours. Using rideshare services or renting a scooter can save you time and stress. It's a convenient way to get around and explore the city's attractions.
Don't Skip Live Music Venues
Nashville's live music scene is legendary. From intimate venues to larger concert halls, there's something for every music lover. Be sure to check out a live performance during your stay; it's an experience you won't forget, most found along Broadway.
Where to Stay Airbnb Options in Nashville
Staying in an Airbnb in Nashville offers a more authentic and personalized experience. During my trip, I stayed at the Hendrix, located at 843 Lischey Avenue. This super Airbnb provided a cozy and comfortable home base for our adventures. The neighborhood was charming, and we felt like locals during our stay.
Benefits of Staying in an Airbnb
Live Like a Local: Staying in an Airbnb allows you to immerse yourself in the local culture. You'll get to experience the neighborhood's unique charm and attractions.
Unique Accommodations: Airbnbs often offer more character and personality compared to standard hotels. From quirky decor to historical homes, you'll find a variety of options.
Cost-Effective: Airbnbs can be more budget-friendly, especially for longer stays. You can save money by cooking meals in your own kitchen and enjoying the comforts of home, we stayed here, but it looks like it’s no longer being rented, this was our first choice, but missed out due to timing and booking dates. We felt it had a little better location to downtown and the gulch. The gulch is about a 3-minute walk to downtown or Broadway so not too bad, but it’s hot and humid, and you are wearing cowboy boots like my outfit, you may want to Uber! Ha!

For a unique dining experience, head to The House of Cards. This upscale restaurant offers a magical atmosphere, complete with live magic performances. Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint
A visit to downtown Nashville wouldn't be complete without stopping at Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint. Known for its authentic Southern barbecue, this spot offers a taste that is both hearty and flavorful. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the smoky aroma that promised a fantastic meal ahead. We decided to try the pulled pork sandwich and the classic brisket. Each bite was packed with flavor, the meat tender and perfectly smoked. Coupled with their tangy coleslaw and cornbread, the meal was nothing short of a barbecue enthusiast's dream. Whether you're a local or a tourist, Martin's is a must-visit for a genuine taste of Nashville's barbecue scene.

A Night at the Clock Tower: Private Concert with Jordan Davis
Our trip took an exciting turn when we had the incredible opportunity to attend a private concert with Jordan Davis at the historic Bell Tower. The setting was intimate, allowing us to experience the music up close and personal. We captured some amazing photos that showcase the concert's energy and the artist's captivating performance. This unique experience highlighted the raw talent and charisma of Jordan Davis, making it a night to remember.
Thrills at the Formula One Race
After the concert, our adventure continued with a visit to the Formula One Race, where we were lucky enough to watch the race up close due to my husband's work sponsorship of one of the cars. The thrill of the race was palpable, as high-speed cars zoomed past us, and we could feel the excitement with every lap. Being so close to the action gave us a thrilling and unique perspective on the race, making it another unforgettable highlight of our trip. This special access allowed us to appreciate the skill and precision of the drivers, further enriching our experience.
