My Favorite Post Workout Cleanser

My skin is super sensitive and after my workouts each day, I need a cleanser that is not going to make my skin breakout and/or inflamed.

I am happy to report, I have found my favorite, and I’m sharing it with you here today!

I am serious about taking good care of my skin and weekly, I get asked what my skincare routine looks like.

If you want a personalized skincare recommendation, fill out my skincare questionnaire, and I’ll email you back, or you can email at angie@angiebloom.com. I know the Beautycounter skincare and makeup lines best, but if I think products from other brands will work well for you, I’ll share those too - I like to keep it real here over at Angiebloom.com and if there are other products that would be a better fit for you, you better believe I will share that with you!.

My Most Favorite Post Workout Cleanser EVER!

  1. Meet Countermatch

I absolutely love Countermatch, and it works for most skin types that want gentle, long-lasting hydration. The Countermatch Foaming Cleanser is formulated to match the natural structure of the skin and deliver long-lasting moisture—for an everyday glow. It’s really hydrating which helps the skin with aging and this is a line that adapts to your skin, which makes it great for most skin types. It washes away impurities, and gets you glowing. Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth, not tight or dry. It has hyaluronic acid, squalane, plum oil, and phytic acid.

  • Squalane: derived from olives, it draws moisture into the skin and visibly restores elasticity.

  • Plum Oil*: rich in omegas 6, 9 and vitamin E, it helps provide nutrients for vibrant, healthy-looking skin.

  • Phytic Acid: sourced from rice, it gently exfoliates to aid in cell turnover, which helps skin breathe for a natural glow.

A mix of plastic and glass packaging for maximum sustainability with the most accessible pricing.

IF YOU ARE VERY ACNE PRONE, I TYPICALLY LIKE TO BRING IN:  The charcoal bar and balancing no. 3 oil in place of the entire Countermatch, or I simply add a few tweaks, depending on your skin type and concerns. Whatever you're choosing, I’d start slow with sensitive skin, looking at just a cleanser and moisturizer to start with.

My simplified daily routine – It’s literally less than 5 minutes, I promise!

NOTES:

  • This video is showing how I apply my makeup.

  • If you’re looking to overhaul your makeup, the Flawless in Five set has everything you need for a simple, polished look, and you save 20% off by buying it as a set.

  • If you want more sheer coverage that includes SPF 20, go for Dew Skin tinted moisturizer rather than Skin Twin. I wear shade 2 or 3 – See application here. (I use this when I want SPF and also a sheer coverage to even out my skin tone.)

Makeup I use when I’m doing a little more!

  • Mattifying Powder - this is so amazing to help keep your makeup from running. It’s awesome for also setting make-up, blending eyeshadow. (Tutorial coming soon using Beautycounter’s mattifying powder, to get an idea of how to apply!)

  • Lid Glow Cream Shadows - See post here to watch the easiest application!

  • Eyeliner - I use black and love how soft our eyeliner is!

  • Girls’ Night Lipstick - my favorite red also love Garden Party Bright Pink (see video here)

P.S. Any product you use on a regular basis should be cleaned often (psst: your beauty cabinet will look and feel much nicer when you’re finished, too). So, grab the soap, a little water, and get cleansing. As you clean, be sure to check each period-after-opening (PAO) symbol while you’re at it. Beautycounter products specify the number of months that you can expect them to be safe for use. Look for a tiny period-after-opening (PAO) symbol of an open lid pot with a note like “12M”, which means the product’s lifespan is 12 months from the time you open it if it’s been stored and used properly. You may be due to replace some of your old #betterbeauty—which will make it, well, even better.
