Tips for an Easy, Stress-Free Thanksgiving

1. Plan Ahead

Start with a plan and stick to it. Write down your menu, assign dishes to guests who want to bring food, and create a timeline for cooking. Knowing what needs to be done and when will save you loads of stress.

2. Prep in Advance

Cut vegetables, measure out ingredients, and even make some dishes a day or two ahead of time. Options like cranberry sauce and pie fillings hold up well in the fridge, freeing up time on the big day.

3. Delegate Tasks

You don’t need to do it all on your own! Ask family or friends to pitch in with cooking, setting the table, or washing dishes during the celebration.

4. Use Time-Saving Gadgets

Consider using tools like slow cookers, immersion blenders, and food processors to make tasks easier. These can speed up prep time and reduce the workload.

5. Simplify Your Menu

Stick to a few standout dishes rather than an elaborate spread. Focus on recipes that are easy and satisfying, like the ones below, and supplement with store-bought options if needed.

With these strategies in place, you’re ready to tackle Thanksgiving and actually enjoy the day! Now it’s time for the fun part—curating your menu with simple but delicious dishes.

My Christmas-Themed Thanksgiving Table

This year, I decided to shake things up a bit and lean into a Christmas theme for my Thanksgiving table. I know it breaks away from tradition, but it felt really liberating to create a setting that reflected what I wanted—something warm, inviting, and a little different. I used a mix of evergreen branches, branched lights, and a smattering of reindeer and neutral Christmas trees to decorate the table. The centerpiece was a simple vase filled with Norfolk pine branches and this vase, adding a festive touch without overwhelming the space. It may not follow the usual Thanksgiving decor rules, but that's what made it special. It was about embracing my creativity and making the celebration uniquely ours.
