Easy Homemade Breakfast Sausage

IF YOU LOVE BREAKFAST SAUSAGE, TRY THIS HOMEMADE RECIPE. SUPER TASTY AND SURPRISINGLY EASY… JUST A BUNCH OF SEASONINGS MIXED TOGETHER WITH GROUND TURKEY!

Last week, I wanted to make some breakfast sausage. It was after my workout at the gym so I wanted something quick and easy but full of flavor. The great thing was I had all the spices on hand and it certainly beats buying store bought breakfast sausage (with ingredients I can’t pronounce!) Also, so much cheaper! I like pairing these with fun breakfast burritos or on the side of pancakes (my favorite brand is here!) A little drizzle of maple syrup on these guys is kind of a dreamy combination.

Adding nutrients such as protein, fat, fiber, and greens specifically work beautifully together to extend our blood sugar curve. They keep us full longer, and satisfied until our next meal. I like to make sure I pair a smoothie or some other type of carbohydrate to create a balanced meal that will help keep me full longer.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lbs. Ground Turkey

  • 1 T Brown Sugar

  • 3/4 tsp Salt

  • 1/2 tsp Ground Pepper

  • 1 tsp Thyme

  • 1 T Sage

  • 1 1/2 tsp Rosemary

  • 1/8 tsp Nutmeg

Directions:

  1. Preheat Oven to 425 degrees - if you prefer to bake them in the oven, you will bake for 17 mins or until done! See step two to form balls.

  2. In a large bowl, stir seasonings together with ground turkey. Scoop into 12 even balls (I used a cookie scoop for this), form into patties, press down balls with a fork and fry in a nonstick skillet with a little coconut oil cooking spray or olive oil. Once fully cooked, remove to paper towels and serve as desired. ENJOY!
