I’m super excited to be sharing on the blog about Beautycounter’s Think Big Mascara!

We had two other versions of the mascara, prior to the Think Big Mascara launching and to be honest, I never spoke about it, especially here on the blog, because frankly I didn’t love it, and it just missed the mark for me.

Meet Beautycounter Think Big Mascara: Forget everything you know about clean mascara. We’re about to change the game in the blink of an eye. If your goal is to have dramatic lift, length, and mega volume (without clumping and flaking) then Think Big All-In-One Mascara is your chance! It’s boosted with lash-care conditioners for longer, fuller, stronger-looking lashes.

Why does clean mascara matter?

Ingredients that can be found in traditional mascaras (carbon black, mineral oils, cyclic silicones, and BHT) may be linked to harmful effects on human health. The eyelids in particular are very thin and prone to irritation so, as always, we were mindful of formulating with safer ingredients. I don’t know about you, but I have super sensitive eyes, and using conventional mascaras left my eyes watering all the time. I love that with my sensitivity, I can wear this without any problems at all.

Think Big All-In-One Mascara is EWG-Verified™.

We test each batch for heavy metals to ensure it meets our strict safety measures. We are highly selective when it comes to pigments; out of the 65 cosmetic colorants allowed in the US, Beautycounter prohibits the vast majority from being used, only using 18 colorants in our color cosmetics.

The New Formula:

31% of the plastic used in the packaging is composed of post- consumer recycled resin.

Tripeptide technology features two ingredients to support the appearance of longer, fuller, and stronger lashes. Provitamin B5 nourishes and conditions while biotinyl tripeptide helps support stronger, healthier-looking lashes.

Think Big All-in-One Mascara is a completely new formula, designed to bring the best results from a volumizing and lengthening mascara into one.

What I Love About It:

  • I felt like the previous formula was too dry and didn’t make a big difference. I would have to warm it up to apply, which was a huge pain! This one is extremely gentle on the eyes, but still gives the thick and bold look I enjoy and love! It’s completely buildable, too.

  • Their emphasis on sustainability. BC is always finding ways to be more earth-friendly with their packaging and production strategies, and the plastic in this bottle is made from post-consumer recycled resin. I love this!

  • I absolutely love the brush. It grabs the tiniest hairs and separates them like a charm.

  • I teach spin classes each week, and I’m happy to report that it stays put, and I sweat a lot!

What Isn’t My Favorite:

  • I think the only thing I’ve noticed is if you have super oily eyelids, and you don’t use an eye primer, or mattifying powder, you could potentially get some transfer.

How do you remove Beautycounter mascara?

This formula is simple to remove and works with a variety of Beautycounter cleansers and removers, so that there’s an option regardless of preference.

  • Liquid Cleanser: Generously apply warm water to help release the mascara from the lashes, then follow with your favorite gentle cleanser.

  • Cleansing Oil or Balm: Apply warm water to the lashes, followed by Countertime Cleansing Oil or Counter+ Lotus Glow Cleansing Balm. Gently press and wipe (never rubbing) to remove the formula from lashes.

  • Instant Eye Makeup Remover: Saturate a cotton round with the remover and press the round onto eyelashes, holding for one to two seconds. Once lashes are saturated, gently sweep in both upwards and downwards motions until all the formula has been removed.

Bonus: this new mascara is now included in Flawless in Five. If you want to upgrade your makeup to safer options, this is such a great way to do it!! With Flawless in Five, you’ll save 20% on the mascara and everything else that comes with it.

Ophthalmologist Tested:

This mascara is also ophthalmologist tested, which means it was given the OK by a professional eye doctor. Also, just to note, a lot of my clients are contact lens wearers, and they don’t have any issues with sensitivity or irritation when wearing this Think Big All-in-One Mascara.

Beautycounter’s Think Big All-in-One Mascara is available to purchase on the Beautycounter website as an individual item as well as, within three different product bundles. Here are the four ways you can currently shop this new mascara. I’d definitely suggest grabbing either the Flawless in Five or the In an Instant Bundle, which will give you the best deal!

P.S. Any product you use on a regular basis should be cleaned often (psst: your beauty cabinet will look and feel much nicer when you’re finished, too). So, grab the soap, a little water, and get cleansing. As you clean, be sure to check each period-after-opening (PAO) symbol while you’re at it. Beautycounter products specify the number of months that you can expect them to be safe for use. Look for a tiny period-after-opening (PAO) symbol of an open lid pot with a note like “12M”, which means the product’s lifespan is 12 months from the time you open it if it’s been stored and used properly. You may be due to replace some of your old #betterbeauty—which will make it, well, even better.
