Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie
IF YOU LOVE A CLEANSING SUPER BRIGHT AND VIBRANT SMOOTHIE FOR BREAKFAST OR ANY OTHER PART OF YOUR DAY THEN THIS END OF SUMMER ANTI-INFLAMMATORY SMOOTHIE WILL KNOCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!
Last week, after returning from Martha’s Vineyard, I wanted a super detoxifying smoothie to help my body reset a bit after eating out a lot. This pink smoothie comes together in no time - perfect for those busy mornings or when life just gets a bit crazy. I ended up adding a little almond butter to help keep myself satiated a bit longer as well.
Best Anti-Inflammatory Foods
Eating a diet full of foods rich with vitamins and minerals is a great start to lower inflammation. Some common foods to help with this are leafy greens, nuts and fatty fish. For our smoothie today we’ve paired a few (delicious) foods together that are high in anti-oxidants and rich in vitamins in mineral to help reduce inflammation: banana, bing cherries or raspberries, hemp seeds and a clean protein powder which is optional.
INGREDIENTS:
1 frozen banana
1/2 cup frozen bing cherries or raspberries
1 T hemp seeds
1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)
1 scoop collagen
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender or in the container of a hand blender. Blend until completely smooth, and top with additional hemp seeds as garnish. Enjoy straight away.
